Wow who knew it only took the prospect of a new sewing machine to get my enthusiasm for making cloths and cosplays back up ^_^ now what should i sew, any suggestions?

On being 21...

I had my big 21st birthday last saturday ... and ... well ... i don't feel any older, or any-more responsible either ... I loved all the presents my friends got me though, they were awesome (i has a mini smoke breathing dragon now :D ) I think i'm slowly going off of cosplay, i just don't feel any of the enthusiasm and excitement that was there before, maybe i'll pick it up again when summer is here who knows...

Very late update

I know i sort of disappeared off the internet for the last couple of months, and it's totally the uni's fault, there's just so much work to do ... ok who am i kidding i just procrastinated lots and got really really lazy about updating stuff. Also right now i'm totally into role playing games, i mean it's like the geekiest thing ever, but i love it, you get to play a completely different person, and escape from reality and real life problems for a while, just what i need when my projects are due the next morning, a healthy dose of ogre hunting and tiefling shooting. which is one of the reasons why i haven't been doing much cosplaying lately, also no money tends to put a damper on things, but i have been putting together some quite cool costumes, which i shall have to take photos of at some point, i'm really quite proud of them. besides all of that i really haven't been doing much. now two weeks into my easter holiday and i still haven't started revision for my exams at the start of term (which is in three weeks btw) yet, hmm ... i think it's the perfect time for some giant robot fighting ...

Blu-tacking locusts then cutting off one of theirs legs and making them jump, poking tiny fly maggots with hot soldering irons to see if they feel anything ... all in a day's work 8D one of the reasons why i enjoy biology so much ;p

i love this line on the 'human jump' practical handout ' Please note: Unlike the locust jump experiments we do not want you to compare one- and two-legged jumping perfomance by surgically or otherwise removing a leg of any participant. ' :XD:

Cosplay and Conventions


I still haven't made up my mind about the whole cosplay/conventions thing, at the moment from what i can see of my university timetable and finance stuff this year it's not possible for me to go to conventions in term time, maybe not even during holidays, since most conventions are too far down south which means too much time and money is spent on travelling, and that's one of the major reasons why now i can't go to fuyucon or expo (i have lectures on friday, which means i can't get there till at least 8/9pm, then on sunday i'll have to leave at about 11am/1pm because i have lectures monday 9am, this would mean that i only really get to spend saturday at the con, and that's not really worth the £200 that i'd have to spend on tickets, room, and travel, never mind the whole cosplay thing)

Cosplay wise i'll do what i can but money is tight, at the end of the day it's just a hobby, right now real life is sucking up all the time and money i can spare *sigh* (though i did just buy a new laptop, but that's neccessary) in the fore-see-able future i might make the odd simple costume here and there, but not anything elaborate.



General Life


Nothing really to say about life except i've been settling into my new house which i suppose is good for the price i'm paying for it, though there's no temperature labels on the oven so i can never tell just how hot is.... and there's no curtains in my room except a sheet covering the window ^^; My house mates are awesome, we play warcraft3 till 5am regularly 8D

I've been ill for the past few days, probably frsher's flu, everyone seems to be catching it, though i have not been remotly close to any freshers at all :XD:

Oh and i've been doing some photoshoots lately, so they might go up sometime :)
